Relationship Needs – Are You Really Fit?

“Fitness is the absence of Fitness.” James Allen writes in his book The Essence of Success that, “The absence of Fitness is the greatest of all obstacles to success.” He goes on to say, “If you want to succeed, you must love yourself and be yourself.” I completely agree with James Allen when it comes to the importance of fitting yourself into your niche.

I know a few people that are extremely fit yet hate their bodies. In their eyes they look like a frump but inside they are anything but. They also suffer from chronic headaches, back pain, and mood swings. There are even people who can sit for hours but still have trouble getting out of bed in the morning. These are examples of Fitness and its effect on us.

Fitness can also affect relationships. If you are with someone who you truly feel drawn to but you just can’t get over a particular situation, it might mean that your partner is not fulfilling your relationship needs. It may also mean that she is not receiving your affection in the way you desire. You would probably be much happier in your marriage if you could truly feel your significant other was attracted to you because of your fit. Also, you would both be much more at peace in your marriage if you truly felt your significant other loved you for you.

Fitness also affects self-esteem. If you feel inadequate, you will have an inferiority complex. Not only will you feel bad about yourself, but you will also procrastinate. You will avoid getting out in public or doing things that you really enjoy. This will only hurt your self confidence and hamper your happiness.

Another example is in sports. If you are a good sprinter or long jumper but have terrible tennis technique, you will probably not thrive on any level of sports. You might make fun of yourself and think no one will ever take you seriously if you cannot master something in sports. However, being a great sprinter or jumper does not necessarily mean you will thrive. You will also have to find ways to improve yourself.

Fitness is one of the best things to keep in mind in your relationship. There are many areas that you can improve if you are fit and happy. Being fit can affect your relationship in many positive ways. If you feel unappreciated, if you do not feel your significant other is truly happy with you, or if you think your partner is having an affair, then you might be suffering from some relationship problems that can go on for a long time. The first thing you should do if you are experiencing relationship problems is to see a doctor to make sure there are not any deeper underlying issues.
